I'm now __? Happy Birthday to me.

Marialice spent the weekend with us. She planned to come up to watch on of H's soccer games on Saturday, but it was cancelled. Then, Sunday was my __ birthday!

Fall at Blue Lake

This weekend was a beautiful weekend to be out on the lake.

I took the photo above, while kayaking around the lake on my birthday (Oct 18th). It looks more like a painting, than a photo.

That morning, there was a tree at the north end of the lake that was dropping leaves like rain. It was really neat and R liked kayaking back and forth through the islands of leaves. It was beautiful.

This was the most brilliant tree on the lake over the weekend.

Work Day at Blue Lake

First, we took a kayak ride around Blue Lake (I HATE those red pants he's wearing!)

Then we came back and did some work. R and the neighbor boy, collected sticks. Time of a campfire.

Great Howned Owl

Look what we saw on Meredith Grade Road a couple weekends ago, in the evening. He was flying in front of our car with his talons full of a dead muskrat. However, his hefty meal was too big for him to get very far off of the ground.

So, he landed in the road, sitting on top of his quarry and waited for us to go by. Instead, we stopped and I whipped out my trusty camera and got these great photos. (Notice the muskrat tail sticking out from underneath this Great Horned Owl). He was AMAZING! After this photo, he decided to take off, leaving the dead muskrat in the road. I'm sure he went back for it when we left.

Labor Day Weekend

Here is a bunch of kids (including ours) having fun swimming at Blue Lake on Labor Day weekend.
