The Muldoon Family Visits us Up North... Dec 29th and 30th, 2008

The Muldoon Family came up for a 2 day visit on December 29th and 30th. They brought their two youngest kids up. Their oldest one was spending the week at Space Camp in Alabama.

Here's the kids playing a game of SORRY.

Here is Mike and Jim chatting in the kitchen at our vacation rental house.

Here's Jim putting on his funny face. He's puffing up like a silly rooster!

Me and Becky. SMILE!

Wow! Mike and Becky's daughter looks like becky's clone!
Becky's "MINI ME".

Power Outage Dec 28th, 2008

We were out of power from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm. We camped out by the fireplace all day long, to stay warm. Here's the kids playing checkers by the fireplace.

"H" and I played countless games of Othello, that day.

Christmas Photos!

We hung our stockings with care.

Santa visited our house on Christmas morning.

The house was decorated for the occasion.

My parents were up the day after Christmas, to celebrate with us. The kids had spent the week down state at their house. We missed the kids and it was good to have them back home.

R got the movie "Dark Knight".

H shows off her Snowball Blaster!

If you'd like to see more Family Christmas Photos, I posted even more on my Facebook Photo Album

More Wintery Photos!

Merry Christmas Everyone! We sure did have a very white Christmas!

Mother Nature gave us a massive dose of snow this December.

I measured the snow in the front yard on Christmas Eve. We had 20 inches of snow. We've had a couple more inches fall, since I took this picture.

Here is Jim, shoveling more snow AGAIN on Christmas Eve.

We attempted to take the sleds out for a drive, but it was snowing so hard that it stuck to our shields, making it difficult to see. We weren't out long...

This is what it looks like at the bottom of our driveway. The mountain of plowed snow was piled as high (or higher) than the eves of our house.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

I posted more photos on Facebook

Check this out!!! This was our PROM photo from 1987. It was actually "My Prom". Jim had already graduated high school by this time and I was a senior. I still have that prom dress in my closet.

I am having fun scanning some old photos from some albums. I've been posting them on my Facebook album. If you want to see some more photos from our past, go here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2011634&l=50b5e&id=1052914009

More Winter Photos

This was the temp Saturday morning at 7 am, as we were leaving to drive down state! We did see it at -10 at one point. That's flipin' cold!

This is how much snow we have on the ground and on our swing as of Sunday, Dec 21st 2008.

This was Meredith Grade after the big storm Friday afternoon.  It seemed like more snow seeing it in person. The photo doesn't do the snow justice! It was nasty out.

H playing at her Christmas Band Concert (6th grade)

Here is "H" playing the flute during her Christmas Band Concert on Tuesday, Dec 16th. She did a good job.

This is a cute picture of Izzy snuggling up in my coat.

This is the kind of traffic jam we get in Gladwin County!

Visit to the Midland Santa House Thursday

Thursday, we took the kids to the Santa House in Midland.

It's a really neat play. You really need to go there to appreciate it. Here's the kids sitting in Santa's slay.
Patiently waiting in line.

Kids with jolly old Santa.

Here's the BIG KID sitting on Santa's lap. Poor Santa's knee.

Afterwards, the kids got to stand under the snow-maker. Actually, they were bubbles.

More Wintery Photos

Okay... so maybe this is a wintery photo, but they did get out of going to school AGAIN today, because of the winter weather. Here is "R" with Dixie. I think she was a little sore today, from running in the snow yesterday. She was moving kind of slow this morning.

Here is "H" with Angel (the Shepherd) and Izzy.

We decided to go deliver Girl Scout cookies today, since they had no school.

Hmmmmm..... can you tell what kind of vehicle this is? Good luck getting that out of the snow!

Here is a pretty picture of our neighbor's creek. The picture doesn't do it juctice. It's much prettier when you see it in person.

Here is our little creek that runs next to our house. You can see our place in the far background.

And... Here is our house. Jim had his work cut out for him, plowing this out this morning.

BIG SNOW! Dec 8 and 9th.

Gladwin had no shortage of EARLY snowfall for Dec 8th and 9th.
It's not even officially winter yet...is it?

12 inches of newly fallen snow, marked the end of our first BIG snow storm for the winter of 2008-2009.

This also meant... NON SCHOOL for 2 days in a row!

It also meant... long, fun days playing in the deep snow and climbing of mountains of white!

The bird were happy for a full bird feeder.

----------------------

I took pictures from the beginning to the end.

Above is just the very start of the storm.

The photo above was taken a 2pm Dec 9th, after the bulk of the snow had already fallen. However, it wasn't over yet.

We got even more. This photos was taken in the morning of Dec 10th.

Here I am roof raking our vacation rental house, last night. Jim was busy plowing the driveway and easement drive, to the main road. What a chore!

This was how much snow we had on the picnic tables at our Retreat. Wow!

This morning, I got to enjoy another beautiful sunrise.

This is one of our towering pine trees, in front of our home. Isn't it pretty?
