On Christmas Eve, Dad and Mom (& Snowball) were able to make it up for a visit.

Getting ready for Deer Season!

Well... we got our blinds up for deer season, yesterday. Tomorrow (Nov 15th) is the big day!

Here's "R" glowing like a road pylon in the middle of the woods! Ha ha!

This is Jim's spot. I forgot to take a picture of where I'm sitting, You can't see it in this picture, but the Cedar River is about 80 ft behind his blind.

Our Walk around Hoister & Trout Lakes

November 8th, 2009 was a beautiful day to be outside. I took the kids for a hike around Hoister and Trout Lakes!

There used to be house house here, a very, very long time ago. Now there is just an old fireplace, where the house once stood. I wonder about the history that happened there.

Look at this amazing view over Trout Lake!

I even took a break and sat by the lake while the kids played.

The kids are standing on a Beaver House! Is anyone home?

H made an ATOM Cake for Science Class

"H" made this all by herself. No help from me (being that I hate to bake). She is quite clever! She used her Halloween candy to to decorate the cake. She did manage to save a few pieces for us, for after school.

I must say... it was YUMMY!

I'm now __? Happy Birthday to me.

Marialice spent the weekend with us. She planned to come up to watch on of H's soccer games on Saturday, but it was cancelled. Then, Sunday was my __ birthday!

Fall at Blue Lake

This weekend was a beautiful weekend to be out on the lake.

I took the photo above, while kayaking around the lake on my birthday (Oct 18th). It looks more like a painting, than a photo.

That morning, there was a tree at the north end of the lake that was dropping leaves like rain. It was really neat and R liked kayaking back and forth through the islands of leaves. It was beautiful.

This was the most brilliant tree on the lake over the weekend.

Jim all dressed in his waterproof gear.

Work Day at Blue Lake

First, we took a kayak ride around Blue Lake (I HATE those red pants he's wearing!)

Then we came back and did some work. R and the neighbor boy, collected sticks. Time of a campfire.
