Lunar Eclipse Last Night

The first picture was taken at around 8:55 pm, Feb 20th.

I wish my camera would have taken better pictures. The digial didn't do well in the dark.

Once the moon was totally eclipsed, I couldn't get the camera to take a decent photo. So, this is the best I got.

Fun with Friends

R' playing Jenga with one of the neighbor kids. We've had a TON of snow this winter! Look at the road leading to our house. It's very pretty, but very snowy!

Valentine Dance

Here are some fun photos of the kids and the Elementary & Intermediate School Dance.

They had a great time!

Gladwin County Ice Carnival

The Gladwin County Ice Carnival was held over the weekend.

It was a COOOOOLD Day for an Ice Race!

Sunday offered blistering COLD temperatures!

At around 11 AM, this is what my Jeep's outside temperature read!
-2 BELOW ZERO!

It was still fun to watch from the comfort of our own warm truck!
The wind was also something else! They say that the wind chill was more than 30 below!
Can you imagine how these guys felt?
You got to give them credit for getting out there!

Moving BIG Rocks (Like Stonehenge)

This is Truly AMAZING!

Wally Wallington (a Michigan Resident) can move anything.

Wally Wallington has demonstrated that he can lift a Stonehenge-sized pillar weighing 22,000 lbs and moved a barn over 300 ft. What makes this so special is that he does it using only himself, gravity, and his incredible ingenuity.

ELO Concert in Mt Pleasant

Last night we went to the ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) Concert in Mt Pleasant.

Mike, Mariann, Bill, Nancy, Us and the Kids went.
This was the kids first concert! Here's Mike and R.

Here is Nancy preparing for some pre-concert gambling!

Here's Jim with his perfect little bowl of ice cream. They were teasing him, that he could work for Tasty Freeze, because of his perfect little ice cream masterpiece!

Bill & Nancy

I think Mariann has a mouthful of dessert!

Mike, you look bored!
ELO in CONCERT!

Click on the above photos to enlrge their view.

I wish I could have gotten my mini videos to load, so I could post them here. I'll try later.

Snow Day Last Week

These photos were taken last week, on one of the many snow days the kids have had off from school. I think as of the 7th of February, the kids have had school called of 14 times! I've never seen a winter like this since we moved up north in 1992!
Here's R with his friend. They played video games before going outside and playing in the snow.
The driveway makes for a great sledding hill!

Here is Titus in his new favorite spot to curl up for a nap!

Old Building on Meredith Grade Road, Gladwin County

I'm not sure what this building used to be. It's on Meredith Grade Road, about one mile west of Chappel Dam Road in Gladwin County, MI. I couldn't find any history on it.

Back in the 1800's, Meredith Grade Road used to be a railroad grade for logging. Meredith Michigan used to be one of the most dangerous boom towns in the U.S. in the late 1800's.

I'd like to find more history about the area online.
